Used in mankind's earliest dwellings, stone is without doubt the oldest construction material known. Many ancient structures throughout the world are a testament to the durability of stone, which remains a superior construction medium and is under utilised in view of it's widespread availability.

EH Smith are able to provide expert advice on, and supply, a wide range of stone products. These include natural and reconstituted stone products. The term reconstituted stone covers both dry and wet cast solutions:

Dry Cast has a surface finish so closely resembling that of natural stone it presents difficulty in distinguishing between the two. Dry cast units need no surface treatment after de-moulding other than minimal hand dressing.

Wet Cast products are used where dry casting is not practical for structural reasons. e.g. size of element, congested reinforcement or for reasons of complexity of shape or decoration. Large units of up to 5 tonnes can be offered as well as bespoke components.
